Talks and publications

Invited talks

Most of the research groups that make up Language at Leeds run their own series of talks by invited speakers. In addition, we organise the Language at Leeds Distinguished Speaker Series, a series of lectures by high-profile linguists. All talks are advertised through this website: click on Events on the top menu to see details of forthcoming talks and events.  Email language@leeds.ac.uk to publicise your Leeds-based language-related events.

Language@Leeds Working Papers

Language@Leeds Working Papers (L@LWP) is an online only, open access peer-reviewed journal edited by postgraduate researchers. The objective of this journal is to foster free exchange of ideas and provide an appropriate platform for presenting, discussing and disseminating new concepts, current trends, theoretical developments and research findings in linguistics.

L@LWP continues the legacy of Leeds Working Papers in Linguistics and Phonetics, which was published between 1999 and 2012 (first published in 1983, the journal was revived in 1998 by Paul Foulkes and Diane Nelson).

Visit the journal’s page to read more about it and to access the issues of L@LWP as well as the archived issues of Leeds Working Papers in Linguistics and Phonetics.
