Linguistics
The ambition of this satellite is to bring together researchers and scholars interested in the science of language, from various schools:
- the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies
- the School of English
- the School of Education
- the School of Psychology
- the School of Media and Communication
- the School of Philosophy, Religion and History of Science
Our remit is broad by design, ranging from formal approaches to the study of language to applied perspectives, embracing a multidimensional approach. We host a varied programme of talks, including work-in-progress presentations, invited speakers, as well as training sessions focusing on research methods. The aim is not to duplicate what other satellites already do, but to fill the gaps, so that every aspect of the discipline of linguistics finds a home in Language@Leeds.
The satellite is led by Valentina Brunetto and Cecile De Cat. Please contact [email protected] if you would like to join.
