Following the strong enthusiasm for the Research Pitch Perfect event, the Language@Leeds PGR community brought it back this semester. The event was held in the Emmanuel Centre at the University of Leeds led by L@L research intern Mian Feng, once again creating a supportive space for postgraduate researchers to develop their research communication skills.

PGRs from different schools and faculties gathered to explore how to present their work clearly, confidently, and creatively within just two minutes. After revisiting key principles of an effective research pitch, participants took to the floor to share their projects, respond to questions, and exchange constructive peer feedback.

The session was marked by lively discussion, thoughtful engagement, and a strong sense of community. Whether preparing for conferences, networking opportunities, or everyday academic conversations, PGRs enjoyed interesting discussions about the value of clarity, focus, and passion in communicating research.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this session, and we look forward to continuing to create opportunities for PGRs to connect, practise, and showcase their work.
