L@L at the Festival of Interdisciplinary Research

Some of Language@Leeds' activity was represented at the Festival of Interdisciplinary Research, under the Culture Theme.

Taking place on 3 May 2018, the festival provided the opportunity to meet people from the University’s Themes and Platforms, which drive and support the development of interdisciplinary research. It showcased examples of how our researchers work across the disciplines to tackle global grand challenges and provide the chance to make new connections.

The University’s new Chancellor, Dame Jane Francis, was the keynote speaker for this event. As Director of the British Antarctic Survey, Dame Francis has a strong understanding of the value of bringing different disciplines together to achieve great things.
