Are you a PGR interested in mastering the art of research pitch? Whether you’re preparing for your first conference or looking to refine your networking skills, this event will help you communicate your research more clearly and confidently.
The session will begin with some practical guidance on the key takeaways of delivering an effective research pitch — followed by a chance for you to give your own 2-minute pitch, answer a couple of questions, and receive peer feedback on your presentation and pitching skills. No slides — just you, your voice, and your passion for your research! Don’t worry if you’d like to take a backseat role for now as well – listening is always the first step to learning!
What is a research pitch?
A research pitch is a short, engaging summary of your research, designed to capture interest and explain why your research matters to a general audience. It is a chance to share what your PhD is about, why it’s important, and why others should care — all in just a couple of minutes. Having a strong research pitch can help you communicate your work effectively, making it easier to connect with others at events (e.g. conferences) and create opportunities for collaboration.
