Researcher Pitch Perfect is Back! - L@L PGR Group
- Date
- Wednesday 18 February 2026, 1-2pm
- Location
- Emmanuel Centre SR07
Following the positive feedback and high engagement from our first session, we are thrilled to announce that we are bringing "Researcher Pitch Perfect" back for another round! Whether you missed out last time or want to come back to refine your skills even further, we invite you to join us for this informal session on mastering the art of the research pitch.
What is a research pitch?
A research pitch is a short, engaging summary of your research, designed to capture interest and explain why your research matters to a general audience. It is a chance to share what your PhD is about, why it’s important, and why others should care — all in just a couple of minutes. Having a strong research pitch can help you communicate your work effectively, making it easier to connect with others at events (e.g. conferences) and create opportunities for collaboration.
Why attend?
Whether you’re preparing for your first conference or looking to refine your networking skills, this event will help you communicate your research more clearly and confidently. The session will include:
- Practical Guidance: Key takeaways on what makes a pitch stick.
- The 2-Minute Challenge: A chance to give your pitch and get friendly peer feedback (no slides—just you and your voice!).
- Active Listening: If you’re not ready to pitch yet, you are more than welcome to join as an observer—listening is the first step to learning!
👥 Bring a PGR Friend!
Research is better together. We encourage you to bring along a fellow PGR student who might find this useful. It’s a great way to support each other and grow our language research community together.
