We are pleased to invite you to our first meeting of the Multimodality Reading Group.

One of the five papers that we selected for this meeting presents Ledin and Machin's discussion on Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL)’s influence on multimodal research and the suitability of appropriating concepts and analytical models from SFL into multimodal analysis, specifically in relation to the goals and objectives of Critical Discourse Studies (CDS). The other four papers include responses from different scholars and a final reply from Ledin and Machin.

If you are interested in joining the meeting, please register here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/multimodality-reading-group-tickets-129609392181  The access link will be sent to all the registered attendees beforehand.

If you cannot make this first meeting, but would still be interested in attending subsequent meetings of this reading group, please contact mlzl@leeds.ac.uk
