New appointments in Language Education


The School of Education has recently made three new appointments in the Language Education area.

Huahui Zhao (Manchester Metropolitan University) and Diana Mazgutova (Lancaster University) have been appointed in lecturer posts. Huahui’s research interests are in assessment for language learning and in language learning with digital technology. Diana has published on syntactic and lexical development in EAP, and on task complexity and L2 writing.

Maggie Kubanyiova, Birmingham will take on the role of Chair. Maggie has broad research interests in instructed second language acquisition, language teacher development and research methodology. She is particularly well-known for her work on L2 motivation and group dynamics.

The Language Education Academic Group, the School of Education and the Centre for Language Education Research look forward to welcoming Huahui, Diana and Maggie.
