CALL FOR PAPERS:
Following the success of the corpus linguistics symposium in May 2022, this one-day event brings together researchers who are interested in any aspects of ‘style’ and ‘authorship’ using corpus linguistic and corpus-based methods. Colleagues from across the university from all career stages are invited to present their work and share best practice.
Topics and areas may include:
- Stylometry and literary authorship analysis
- Style in academic writing and educational settings
- Forensic approaches to style and authorship
- Generative AI and authorship
- Cross-linguistic approaches to style
- Style and social meaning
- Style and translation
- Genre
- Idiolects
- Style and identity
- Style and multimodality
- Describing style
- Methods for investigating style and/or authorship
- Corpus design for investigating style and/or authorship
- Linguistic markers of authorship
Academic staff, PGRs, and PGT students are invited to propose a paper presentation. Please provide a short abstract (100-150 words) for a 20-minute paper or a 10 minute ‘work in progress’.
