This workshop will provide a practical introduction to the R statistical programming language and to the RStudio integrated development environment, which provides a powerful interface for working with R.

This workshop is designed to support the one-day Power and Data Simulation workshop being held the following week. This shorter (two-hour) introductory workshop will help those with little to no experience of R and RStudio to develop their command of both: if you attend this workshop first, you should come away with enough practical knowledge of this software to be able to work with the code examples and exercises of the one-day workshop. Those not planning on attending the Power and Data Simulation workshop are also welcome to attend: this workshop will provide a general, practical introduction to the software which will be useful to any beginner wanting to learn it.
