TAUS and Translation Quality

Jaap van der Meer and Attila Görög speak on the subject of TAUS and Translation Quality.

Quality is one of the most complex variables in translation. The quality of a translation is difficult to assess. All translation agencies claim to deliver top quality translations. Still, we all know that sometimes one text is just better written than another one. One can always compare two translations or even two translators by looking at the price and the speed of delivery but that won’t say anything about the quality of the product itself. What are the key features of good content and how do we measure them? And how can you compare the output of Machine Translation systems in a consistent way? These are the questions TAUS tries to address with the DQF platform which aims to become an industry standard and a central platform for quality evaluation in the future.

TAUS is a resource center for the global language and translation industries. Its mission is to increase the size and significance of the translation industry to help the world communicate better.
