Monday 30 November 2015, 13:00 - 14:30

You are warmly invited to participate in the first of a series of events on multimodality.

As a phenomenon of communication, the term ‘multimodality’ is being increasingly used in the arts, humanities and social sciences to refer to the combination of multiple resources to make meaning. As an interdisciplinary field, it provides a diverse range of approaches, methods and tools to support the analysis of meaning-making in all its manifestations.

There is growing interest and expertise in multimodal studies across disciplines at Leeds and we think it timely to build a forum for the sharing of experience and ideas.

We’ll start by meeting as a reading group on Monday 30th November 2015 from 13:00 to 14:30 in Michael Sadler LG17 to discuss the following work:

Bezemer and C. Jewitt, 2010. Multimodal Analysis: Key Issues. In L. Litosseliti (ed.) Research Methods in Linguistics, London & New York: Continuum, 180-197.

To request a copy of the reading, please email: e.adami@leeds.ac.uk

We look forward to beginning conversations and collaborations with colleagues from around the University!
